This 3 passenger car set-up included a 726 Berkshire steam locomotive. The engine had a functional headlight and produced smoke. Included in the set was a 2426W whistle tender, (3) 2625 Pullman cars; (8) curved and (5) straight track; RCS uncoupling/operating section, a 167 controller unit UTC Lockon, and an instruction booklet.
The 3 Pullman passenger cars was a heavy load for the 726 locomotive. Locomotives equipped with the later "short stack" motor made the pull even more challenging. The tenders were die-cast, as were the whistle housings. Initially lettered with white, they were later produced with silver lettering silver. Today, such sets sell for around $2500 though, in "like new" condition they can command $4000 for this Lionel model train set.
