G Gauge Lionel Model Train Track
It seems G gauge model train track could almost be referred to as "General type" of track. G gauge seems to apply to a variety of popular large-scale trains in very different sizes. The track is the common factor among G scale trains, which can vary greatly in proportions. G gauge track is identical to the old Number 1 gauge, as it has 1.77 inches between the running rails. Number One scale has a proportion of 1:32, or .37 inches to the foot. Toy train manufacturers in Europe have had it in use for many years.
Many G scale accessories are available because of its' foreign popularity.
